In loving memory of Randal Drew Pence, AKA Randy, papa, dad, pops, gramps, and just “PENCE” in the classroom. A devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and retired teacher, Randy was loved by many. With heavy hearts, we announce his passing, leaving behind a profound void in the lives of his children and wife, Donna.

Randy was a man of creativity, integrity, humor, and unwavering love. He showered his children with endless encouragement, guidance, creativity, and affection. He and Donna were their kids’ biggest inspiration.

His legacy as a father will forever be etched in the hearts of his family. He taught them the importance of music and creativity - always bringing home different records, musical equipment and instruments, and always filling the space with music. He seemed to be a virtuoso of every instrument he picked up, (except the flute, which he said was like playing a rock) and was constantly marching to the beat of his own drum!

Beyond his role as a father, Randy was a memorable member of the Pine Ridge School District. He taught band, choir, creative writing and speech, and occasionally dressed up as historical literary icons in order to connect his students to the content. He touched the lives of many with his warm smile, bright blue eyes, gentle nature, and willingness to lend a helping hand. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Randy is preceded in death by his daughter, Erika; mother, Ruth and father, Darrel. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Teesha, Truen, and Zhavanya; grandchildren, Josh, Zaydn, Finn, Zalo, Maysie and Zahbeeyahna; greatgrandchildren, Axel, Nash, Lilly, Stevie, Barett and Sawyer.

Randy, Dad, Papa, Gramps….you will be deeply missed and forever loved. May you be in the arms of your daughter Erika and playing music in a heavenly band!
