Lady Bison, Tigers, Moguls conclude season, while Oelrichs boys advance

EDGEMONT – Both of the Edgemont High School’s basketball teams concluded their seasons in the past week, as the No. 6-seeded Lady Moguls (10-11 season record) fell to No. 3-seed Kadoka in the first round of the Region 7B playoffs by a score of 2756 on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

This past Monday night at home in Edgemont, the Mogul boys (4-15) also ended their season as they lost to Oelrichs (1-17) in the “play-in” game of the Region 7B bracket. The Tigers, who were previously winless and had lost to the Moguls three times earlier this season, pulled off the upset with a 47-46 overtime win to advance to the quarterfinals/first round on Tuesday, Feb. 27, versus top-seed White River (18-2).

The 7th-seeded Oelrichs Lady Tigers (7-10) basketball team also concluded its season last week versus White River when they lost in the first of regions by a score of 40-57.

The 6th-seeded Hot Springs Lady Bison also lost in the first round of the Region 8A tournament versus No. 3 St. Thomas More by a score of 28-55.

This Thursday, Feb. 29, Hot Springs’ Case Auditorium will serve as the neutral site for a SoDak 16 matchup featuring No. 5 Mahpiya Luta and No. 12 Belle Fourche beginning at 6:30 p.m.
