The Edgemont track stars traveled to the Douglas High School Early Bird Track Meet on Saturday, April 2, in Box Elder.
In the 100 meter, Lathen Stevens placed 8th with a time of 11.92. In the 3200 meter, Kimberley Moeltgen placed 5th.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Abby Tidball placed 12th (22.02), while Moeltgen was 13th (23.80). In the 110 meter hurdles, Kaleb Darrow was 13th (23.20).
In the 4 X 100 relay, Stevens, along with teammates Jared Refior, Ryan Simons and Dustin Curl, placed 4th with a time of 46.82. On the girls side of things, in the same relay, Tidball and Moeltgen, along with teammates Emily Moore and Jessica Tubbs, placed 12th.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Tidball place 8th, while Moeltgen placed 11th. Tidball’s time was 56.26 and Moeltgen’s time was 1:05.29.
In the shot put, Tidball placed 13th by throwing 29 feet. In the high jump, Tubbs placed 13th at 4 feet and 2 inches.
In the medley relay, Simons, Rhett Beard, Curl and Stevens, placed 2nd, with a time of 3:54.10. With their long jump efforts in the season opener, Stevens and Curl pre-qualified for the State B Meet to be held in Sioux Falls at the end of the season.
Stevens placed third with a jump of 19 feet and 11.25 inches. Curl placed fourth with a jump of 19 feet and 7.25 inches.
