Lady Mogul Volleyball
On Tuesday, September 1, the Lady Moguls traveled to Hill City to take on the Rangers.
The Junior Varsity team was ready to get some experience under their belts. The Moguls kept in tight competition with the Rangers, but the Rangers came out on top in two sets: 19-25 and 20-25. The JV start with a record of 0-1.
The Varsity then took the court against the Rangers. The Lady Moguls had a slow start to the match. They saw much improvement in the 2nd and 3rd sets. The Lady Moguls played against a tough Ranger team. The Rangers came out victorious in the match in 3 sets: 7-25, 23-25, and 22-25. The Varsity record falls to 0-5.
The Lady Moguls hosted the Oelrichs Tigers on Friday, September 4, for their first game of the season in the Mogul Dome.
The Junior Varsity came ready to show their volleyball skills. The Moguls defeated the Tigers in two sets: 25-19 and 25-19. This improved the JV record to 1-1. The Varsity Moguls came out strong defeating the Tigers the first two sets, but the Tigers did not give up. The Tigers won the match in 5 sets: 25-22, 27-25, 13-25, 20-25, and 13-15. The Varsity record was 0-6.
On Saturday, September 5, the Lady Moguls hosted the Newell Irrigators at the Mogul Dome.
The Junior Varsity showed improvement and confidence in their skills to defeat the Irrigators in two sets: 25-17 and 25-19. The JV record improved to 2-1.
The Varsity Moguls again came out strong and trounced the Irrigators in the first set. The following two sets went to Newell. Then the Lady Moguls took the match in hand and defeated the Irrigators to win in 5 sets: 25-7, 22-25, 20-25, 25-7, and 15-7. The Varsity record improved to 1-6.
The Lady Moguls travel to Hays Springs to take on the Hawks on Friday, September 10th. They will again travel on September 15th to Lead, but will return home on Thursday, September 17th for a game against the Hemingford Bobcats at 6 p.m.
