Edgemont’s track team competed in two meets recently. One was a Southern Hills Qualifier on Tuesday, April 28, at Hot Springs. The other was Panhandle Conference on Friday, May 1, at Morrill, Nebr.
At the Southern Hills Qualifier, Rodney Darrow placed sixth in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:42.94. Darrow also was ninth in the 3200 meters with a time of 12:11.68.
Jonas Kvarud placed 10 in the 3200 meters with a time of 14:10.94.
Hannah Kranawetter placed seventh in the 100 meter hurdles, with at time of 22.13. Kranawetter also placed eighth in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.41.
In the 110 meter hurdles, Clay Englebert was fifth with a time of 1:00.55, while Jonas Kvarud was sixth with a time of 1:03.13.
Edgemont’s boys relay teams are doing well again. They one first in the 4 X 100, with a time of 47.01, as well as the 4 X 1600 with a time of 3:56.36. They placed fifth in the 4 X 200 with a time of 1:54.71. They then placed fourth in 4 X 800, with a time of 10:29.37.
In the shot put, Malaky Refior placed ninth, throwing a distance of 30 feet and 6 inches.
Miles Englebert placed first in the discus by throwing 122 feet and 9 inches.
In the long jump, Lathen Steven finished first with a jump that measured 19.6.5. Dustin Curl was second with a jump of 19.6.
In the triple jump, Dustin Curl placed second with a jump of 38.4.5. Lathen Stevens placed second with a jump of 38.2.5.
At Panhandle Conference, the boys team placed second overall in team standings with 110 points. The girls team placed sixth with 8 points.
In the 200 meters race, Malaky Refior placed sixth with a time of 26.10.
Lathen Stevens placed fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 56.35, while Rhett Beard placed seventh with a time of 1:06.01.
In the 100 meter race for the girls, Hannah Kranawetter placed ninth, with a time of 15.66 and Courtney Wilcox placed tenth with a time of 19.20.
In the 800 meter, Dustin Curl placed first with a time of 2:11.64, while Rhett Beard placed sixth with a time of 2:40.33.
Rodney Darrow placed third in the 1600 meter race, with a time of 5:51.03, as well as the 3200 meter race, with a time of 12:39.15.
Jonas Kvarud placed sixth in the 3200 meter races with a time fo 14:20.00, as well as placing third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 24.08.
Clay Englebert placed fourth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 24.68.
In the 300 meter hurdles, Jonas Kvarud placed seventh, with a time of 58.68, while Rodney Darrow placed eighth, with a time of 59.05.
In the 4 X 100 relay, Lathen Stevens, Miles Englebert, Brok Stovern, and Dustin Curl, placed second with a time of 46.91.
Hannah Kranawetter placed fourth in the 100 meter hurdles, with a time of 21.44, as well as placing fourth in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.27.
Rhett Beard, Clay Englebert, Malaky Refior and Brok Stovern placed third in the 4 X 400 relay with a time of 4:23.75.
In the 4 X 800 relay, Rhett Beard, Clay Englebert, Jonas Kvarud and Rodney Darrow, placed third with a time of 10:43.70.
Malaky Refior placed ninth in the shot put by throwing 31 feet and 1 inch. On the girls side of this same event, Courtney Wilcox placed seventh by throwing 24 feet and 3 inches.
In the high jump, Miles Englebert placed third with a jump of 5 feet and 6 inches. Brok Stovern placed eighth in this event also, by jumping 5 feet.
In the long jump, Dusitn curl placed first with a 19-04.50 jump. Lathen Stevens was second with a 18-10.50 jump, while Brok Stovern was fourth with a 17-03.50 jump.
In the triple jump Dustin Curl placed second with a jump of 38-02.50, while Lathen Stevens was third with a jump of 38-00.00.
