Palo brothers win 55th Father’s Day Invitational

Surrounded by several past winners over the 55-year history of the tournament, this year’s Father’s Day Invitational winners were Chase Palo and Jacob Palo (fourth and sixth from left) of Hot Springs.


HOT SPRINGS – A total of 34 two-person teams competed this past weekend in the 55th annual Father's Day Invitational at Southern Hills Golf Course in Hot Springs.

Using Stableford scoring system which gives a point value to pars, birdies and eagles, this year's winners were brother team Jacob Palo and Chase Palo, who finished with a final score of +16 over the two-day, 36-hole tournament. 

The team medalist title was a tie between Cole and Ty Trevillyan and Jay Miller and Tim Renner, who each shot a total of 311 strokes for a combined 72 holes. The individual medalist was Mark Moller with a 36-hole round of 136 (67/69).

Following is a list of the top-10 overall teams, with the scores per 18 holes in parenthesis.

1st – Chase Palo & Jacob Palo +16 (+7/+9)

2nd (tie) – John Tarrell & Jess Hattervig +15 (+7/+8); Randy Sieg & Baylor Sieg +15 (0/+15)

4th (tie) – Cole Trevillyan & Ty Trevillyan +14 (+3/+11); Bill Miller & Rick Brady +14 (+20/-6)

6th – Trevor McKown & Doug McKown +13 (+9/+4)

7th (tie) – Chad Olstad & Malory Olstad +12 (+14/-2); Gary Palo & Madilyn Palo +12 (-3/+15)

9th – Scott Beehler & Jeremy Beehler +9 (+2/+7)

10th – Wally McKown & Troy McKown +8 (+4/+4)
