October 18, 1929 - July 5, 2023 

Marcella Rose Sunding was born October 18, 1929, to Henrich “Henry’ and Rose (Eden) Klicker in Wolsey, S.D., and called to her eternal home on July 5, 2023.

Marcella was raised on a farm west of Wolsey and graduated from Wolsey High School. After high school, she attended Huron College of Commerce and worked for the Nash-Finch Company.

She met Marvin Sunding and the two were married on December 17, 1949. Marvin secured a job in Hot Springs, S.D. and they moved west. Together they opened Sun Valley Greenhouse and established a truck garden. Later the property became a mobile home park, and they added a storage unit business.

To their union two daughters were born: Lynn (Eldon) Terrell of Bellevue, Neb., and Sandy Standen of Batavia, Ohio. Grandchildren, Julie (Eric) Williams of LaVista, Neb., Wendy (Mike) Tridle of Lincoln, Neb., Amie Standen of Ft. Thomas, Ky., and Jared Standen of Batavia, Ohio. Other survivors include great grandchildren, Dylan, Carson, and Zac Tridle, Lincoln, Neb., Logan, Roman, and Sarah Williams, LaVista, Neb., Christian Blair of Ft Thomas, Ky., and Katie and Ellie Jacoby of Ft Thomas, Ky.; sister, Beverly Calvert of Lewisville, Texas; brother, Delbert (Judy) Klicker of Wolsey, and special friend, Victor Keinitz of Hot Springs, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Edward Standen. 

Marcella will be remembered for her hard work and love of family. She will truly be missed my many.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at United Churches in Hot Springs. Committal services followed at Edgemont Cemetery in Edgemont, S.D.
