Elizabeth Goodrick-Dillon

January 17, 1963 - June 18, 2023
Elizabeth Goodrick-Dillon, 60, passed away in her home in Hot Springs, S.D., on June 18, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. She was born to Dorothy and Gordon Goodrick in Beatrice, Neb. on January 17, 1963.
Liz spent her childhood in Fairbury, Neb. where she and her siblings, Grant and Melanie, built a lifelong love of nature through camping, hiking and waterskiing. When she was 16 years old, her family moved from Fairbury to Alliance, Neb. It was there that she met her future husband, Ted Dillon. They married in 1985 and welcomed their daughter Ashley that same year.
Liz managed the Pizza Hut in Alliance until she moved to Scottsbluff and later settled in Colorado with Ashley and Ted. Liz was an incredibly talented artist, and she worked as a full-time needlepoint designer. Her work was highly sought after by the time she was 25 years old. Liz and her family spent 30 years in Colorado before shifting her career to licensing artwork and moving to South Dakota for the remainder of her life. Liz became a household name designing artwork for companies like Leanin’ Tree, Bits and Pieces and many more. Most would recognize her amazing and original paintings of Santa Claus, nature, and nativities on everything from puzzles to fabric and greeting cards.
Liz spent the last 5 years working on passion projects while continuing to license her artwork. She co-owned and ran a gift store in downtown Hot Springs and a booth in Custer, S.D. Liz loved nature, hiking, gardening and being creative every day. She was as loving as she was talented and was adored by her family and friends.
Liz is preceded in death by her grandparents, Edna and Harold Graham and Melba and Clyde Goodrick.
She is survived by her parents, Gordon and Dorothy; siblings, Grant (Jodi) and Melanie (Jason); sisters-in-law, Trish (Ron) and Julie (Jeremy); husband, Ted; daughter, Ashley (Parker); granddaughters, Riley and Zoey; and her many nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.
A memorial and celebration of her life will be held July 1, 2023, at 28263 Barefoot Ridge Ct., Hot Springs at 11 a.m.
All are welcome to attend.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
