March 3, 1934 - March 1, 2021
Elizabeth Ann Peterson, 86, joined her husband of 68 years, Wayne, on March 1, 2021.
Elizabeth was born March 3, 1934, to Roy and Elizabeth (Holst) Peterson. She spent the first 30 years of her marriage at home raising her 5 children, Becky, Gary, Roberta, Randy and Jay. After the family moved from their ranch at Smithwick, to Hot Springs, she worked at the Hot Springs Elementary School for several years. She then enjoyed providing childcare for 16 years and this gave her many more children to call her “grandma”.
She so loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially when she could get them all together at the same time. She enjoyed fellowship and stewardship at St. John’s Lutheran Church, and she belonged to the Hospital Auxiliary and visited elder shut ins.
She and husband Wayne spent many good times together at the Southern Hills Golf Course, playing golf with friends. They are now together dancing on the last T box. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her family, but we are so happy she is at peace with Dad.
Elizabeth is survived by four children, Gary (Robyn) Peterson; Roberta (Dennis) Bowker; Randy (Lori) Peterson; Jay (Jolene) Peterson; two sisters, Margrethe (Ron) Sibel; Gail Morford; and one brother, Orris; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews all of which she dearly loved.
Preceding Elizabeth is her husband, Wayne; daughter, Becky; parents, Roy and Peggy Peterson; brother, Ted Peterson and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lyle and Myrtle Peterson.
A memorial has been designated in Elizabeth’s name to St John’s Lutheran Church in Hot Springs.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, S.D.
