Elva Lou Romey Britain Grisham passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Seven Sisters Living Facility in Hot Springs, S.D.
Elva was born January 24, 1930, in Bayard, Neb. Elva worked at Ben Franklin in Chadron, as a Secretary for the Farm Loan Office and J.C. Penney’s in Hot Springs and worked at the Fall River County Treasurer’s office from 1966 to 1996 at which point she retired.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Britain; second husband, Robert Grisham; siblings, Ralph; Vernon; Marvel; Mildred; John; mother, Cora Pricket Romey Knisley; father, Loy Romey; step father, Harry Knisley; and grandson, Nathaniel Dryden.
Elva is survived by her children, Rene (Craig) Anderson; Rita (Kent) Doughty; Ramona Britain; Rachelle (Patrick) Christman; Galen (Lori) Britain; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson and her brother, Ted Romey of Phoenix, Ariz.
She is at peace and will be greatly missed.
Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs, S.D.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs, S.D.
