May 24, 1930 - January 4, 2021
Wilma Dean Kenan, age 90, left this world January 4, 2021 to join her many loved ones in Heaven. We are sure Jesus and her loved ones were waiting with open arms.
Wilma was born at Butterfield, Missouri on May 24, 1930 to Nettie (Clevenger) and Carl Holder. Her daddy died in an auto accident in 1942.
She married Coleman (Nick) Nickle in 1945 and to this union her daughter Linda was born in 1947. In 1950 Wilma and Linda moved to Valentine, Neb. to join her mother and step-father, (Howard Hall) and sister, Edith. In 1952 Wilma met Don Kenan. Linda decided he was the one, her daddy. They were married July 26, 1953.
Upon moving to Valentine, Wilma went to work at J.M. McDonald store, where she worked for many years. You also might remember her helping you at Red Front, Prang’s and Mode O’Day. She loved to help people and visit. Her biggest joy was her family. Many of you were included as part of her family.
She was the proudest mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She would have loved to have met her great-great grandson, Banks Englebert. We all knew we were loved dearly. That love will last forever in our hearts.
Wilma was a member of the United Methodist Church in Valentine since 1962. She loved her church family and especially enjoyed decorating for the Mother/Daughter Banquet and other events. Wilma loved to collect pretty things, glass wear, dolls, bells, music boxes, figurines and bears. She will always be remembered for her LOVE!
