Lyle (Mac) McCleerey

Lyle (Mac) McCleerey entered into rest on Thurday, October 8, 2015. He was born in South Dakota on November 26, 1934 to the late Vernie McCleerey and Buelah Whitmore. In heaven, he will join his brothers, Robert, Forrest, and LaVerne.
Lyle leaves behind his beloved wife, Doroth McCleerey, daughters, Jean (Charles) Richardson and Carrie (Ray) Hicks of Maneteca and son, Robert (Cheryl) McCleerey of Turlock.
He was bless with four granchildren, Jennifer, Eric, Amanda and Brad and four great-grandchildren, also a sister Doris Heesch, of Arizona.
In 1966, Lyle moved his family to Manteca, where he was employed by the Tracy Defense Depot. He retired with 38 years of federal service.
Lyle enjoyed camping, hunting and socializing with friends and family. He will be deeply missed!

Robert Flowers

Robert Dean “Bob” Flowers, age 54, passed away September 21, 2015, at his home in Hot Springs, SD.
Bob was born on March 15, 1961, in El Paso, TX, to Donald and Betty (Ballard) Flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Flowers and daughter, Amanda Flowers of Hamburg, IA; parents, Don and Betty Flowers of Hot Springs; brother, Butch (Patty) Flowers of Hot Springs; sisters, Tina (Troy) Sloan of Hot Springs; Cindy (Danny) Jarosz of Sentinel CO; and three grandchildren.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Delma Mehlhaff

Delma Mae Mehlhaff, age 91, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at home.
Delma was born on January 22, 1924, at the Lutheran Hospital in Hot Springs, SD. to Frank and Bessie (McCoy) Hannan. She was the third of eight children and grew up on a farm near Oral, SD. The Hannan family moved to Hot Springs when her father secured a position at the South Dakota State Veterans Home. Delma graduated from Hot Springs High School in the class of 1942. After attending medical lab and x-ray school in Minneapolis, MN. Delma returned to Hot Springs, working for 40 years as a medical laboratory technician. Delma worked at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital until it closed in 1964, and she also worked at the VA Medical Center, retiring after 20 years of government service in 1984.
Delma married Walter Mehlhaff on April 2, 1949. They made their home together in Hot Springs for 64 years. Delma was a homemaker during the early years of raising their four children. As a mother, wife, and community member, Delma dedicated time to numerous volunteer activities. Delma was a member of the United Churches for 76 years, joining the church as a high school freshman in 1939. She was a charter member of the Hot Springs Literacy Council, formed in the early 1990’s and resigned her position as Treasurer in August 2015. Delma previously served as President and in other capacities of the United Churches United Methodist Women. She also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and was an active co-leader for the Busy Bees and Town and Country 4-H clubs. Delma was a member and served in various capacities, including Assistant Sergeant-at-arms of the American Legion Auxiliary Battle Mountain Unit Post 71 following World War II. Delma was a life member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War as Walter’s wife. Delma and Walter were volunteers in the Veterans Affairs Volunteer Service, and were recognized for their commitment and service.
Delma was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents; three brothers and two sisters. Delma is survived by sons Dennis (Marcia) Mehlhaff, Stockton, KS; Ivan (Joyce) Mehlhaff, Woodland Park, Colorado; daughters Carol (Rick) McGraw, Pueblo, Colorado; Sharon (Leo) Kalvels, Hot Springs, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, brother Max Hannan of Hot Springs and sister Mary Anderson of Hot Springs; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday September 28, 2015 at McColley’s Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the United Churches in Hot Springs with Pastor Clint Walker officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery near Oral.
Memorials may be made to the United Churches in Hot Springs and Northern Plains Eye Foundation (Research Division), Rapid City, SD.
