April 19, 2019
Robert Lee “Bob“ Devers, 71, a lifelong native of South Dakota, left this world for the next, passing peacefully on April 19, 2019 in Colorado. His adventure now begins, as he becomes a wizard extraordinaire in the realm of middle earth. He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, incorrigible orneriness and feisty nature.
Often only hindered by the conventions of society, Bob lived a life of contradictions often wild and without regard. He lived his life on his own terms, yet still being compassionate and caring of others, providing comfort, support, wisdom and guidance to those in need! Bob was an avid reader, loved spaghetti westerns, loved cats, and was a connoisseur of music. He was a scholar of life, an eloquent writer, poet and a master of music trivia.
Bob was father to Shelly Branan (Colo.), and Kimberly Halbert (Texas), stepfather to Christina Linn (Minn.), Gabrielle Becker (S.D.), and Shannon Cisneros (S.D.). He was Grandpa HoHo aka Grandpa Bob to many grandchildren and great grandchildren! Bob was a brother to Nancy Yarnell (Wyo.) and Stephen Devers (Colo.), who gave him many nieces and nephews! Bob had a wide and extended family, some connected by blood but many connected through bonds of fellowship and love. “You have to be tough to get old, because getting old is @#&%$ tough”!
