Exterior Grants to be Offered to Edgemont Residents

Edgemont MARCH 10, 2016 - In an effort to “create a visual impact and provide a service to the residents of Edgemont,” NeighborWorks® Dakota Home Resources and the City of Edgemont have partnered to provide several $250 Exterior Grants to the homeowners of Edgemont. The grants may be used for materials for any exterior improvement to a home including but not limited to paint, sidewalks, retaining walls, window replacement, landscaping, porches and steps.

VA Black Hills Health Care System Announces Third Public Comment Period Extension

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced today an extension of the public comment period through May 5, 2016. The public comment period on the draft document began on October 28, 2015. VA BHHCS decided to extend the public comment period in response to stakeholder requests for additional time to review and write comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) regarding the reconfiguration of the Black Hills Health Care System.

City Council Holds Regular Meeting 2-25-16

The Edgemont City Council met on Tuesday, February 16, at 7 p.m.
Deputy Josh Buckwheat gave the law enforcement report (see page 7). Buckwheat also stated that a new deputy has been hired and will star his field training soon. He will live in Edgemont.
Jerry Kellogg offered the city some old rock and concrete blocks. Jerry had purchased the old grocery store next to his Nuts and Bolts some time ago. It has been in the process of being tore down for a while.

School Board Holds Meeting

On Monday, February 8, at 7 p.m., the school board held a regular meeting.
After general meeting openers, the board went into executive session at 7:05 p.m. The meeting resumed at 7:25 p.m.
Diane Stevens reported that she has received a petition for the school board. These are due by February 26 at 5 p.m.
