City Council Meets; Airport Lights and Wells To Be Fixed

The Edgemont City Council met on September 16 and was called to order at 7 p.m.  There was discussion about replacing the airport lights and the wells that need to be fixed.  Both issues were approved.
A motion was made and seconded to approve the agenda for the current meeting and the minutes from September 2.  Motion passed.
Deputy Martha Jarman read the police report.Junior Harper was not in attendance but had reported to Mayor Shaw.  The water leak on E street between 3rd and 4th was fixed and that the hole was partially fixed.  Another saddle that was probably installed in the ‘70s had rusted through.
The Law Enforcement and Safety Committee has not met this month and the Personnel and Finance Committee said that all claims looked good.  A motion was made and seconded and passes with a roll call vote.
Sometime in April or May of 2015, contractors will be out to fix and/or replace airport lights.
Betty Patrick met with the council about closing 2nd Avenue (HWY 471) between F and H streets again for Fall Festival from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for safety purposes.  They are expecting a record crowd.  Motion was passed and carried.
Fall Cleanup will be held again from September 22 through November 7.  Karen will prepare vouchers with regulations and rules.
It was authorized for Mayor Shaw to sign a contract with CeTec by October 1.  Work will start next spring.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.  The next meeting will September 16.
