HOT SPRINGS – The American Legion Riders held their second annual coats for vets coat drive with outstanding community support.
Buckets at the American Legion as well as Bomgaars overflowed with new and gently used coats as the community rallied to show their love and support.
“The community support was amazing,” said Dick Daily, American Legion Rider Director. “Every time we went to Bomgaars there were more and more coats waiting to be picked up, many with their tags still on them.”
“This is a great thing,” said Duane Cruz, VA post 9-11 transition patient advocate, “supporting our veterans is a true calling and having a community that rallies behind them helps our veterans not only physically but mentally.”
“We can’t thank the community enough for all the support they have shown for the veterans in our community,” said Rob DiDomenico, Legion Rider Sgt at Arms.
All coats collected are available for veterans in need at the VA volunteer services office.
“Any veteran coming through this facility can access the coats,” assured Cruz.
