Fall River County Weed & Pest Board Meeting
August 7, 2018

The Fall River County Weed and Pest Board meeting was called to order by President Jerry Wyatt at 2:00 p.m. August 7, 2018 at the Fall River County Courtroom. Attending members were John Sides, Bob Novotny, Joe Falkenburg, Wayne Hageman and Nina Steinmetz. All motions unanimous unless otherwise stated. Motion to approve the agenda and minutes of the last meeting were made by Joe Falkenburg and seconded by John Sides.

Old Business: Watch Properties updates were given and discussed.

The airplane was rescheduled for the week of August 20th to scout for weeds.

Fall River Weed & Pest Office had an educational booth at the Fall River County Fair in Edgemont, SD August 2 – 4th. Adult drawing winner was John Uhrig of Newell, SD and under 18 drawing winner was Erin Osmotherly of Hot Springs, SD.

John Sides moved to go into executive session at 2:20 p.m., seconded by Joe Falkenburg. The Board came out of executive session at 2:50 p.m.

New Business: Bob Novotny moved that the board request that $6,000 from the Weed and Pest Budget be used for a 50/50 herbicide reimbursement grant for Fall River Landowners. Receipts dated from May 1, 2018 through November 1, 2018 for range and pasture 

Discussion was held on possible grant ideas for 2018 - funds for the purchase of leafy spurge bugs for project areas along the Cheyenne River.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fall River County Courthouse - 2nd floor Jury Room. Meeting was adjourned.
