Regular Meeting
January 16, 2024
CALL TO ORDER – ROLL CALL: Mayor, Rheta Reagan, called the regular meeting of the Edgemont Common Council to order at 7:00 P.M. on January 16, 2024, at Edgemont City Hall. Present were Council members David Levey, Jarrell Rola, Jason Shook, Dennis Tubb and Brent White.
Pledge of Allegiance was stated.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS: None were heard.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Dennis Tubb made a motion to approve the January 16, 2024 agenda, with the correction of the next meeting being on February 6, 2024 instead of January 16, 2024. Motion seconded by David Levey. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Brent White made a motion to approve the January 2, 2023 minutes with the correction of tabling the fire department volunteers instead of approving it and David Levey seconded the motion to go into executive session, not Carl Shaw. Motion was seconded by David Levey. Motion carried with unanimous vote.

PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comment was heard.
APPROVAL OF CLAIMS: Brent White made a motion to approve the January 16, 2024 claims totaling $20,468.20. Motion seconded by David Levey. Motion carried with unanimous roll call vote.

2024 LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS - Jason Shook made a motion to approve the following 2024 Library volunteers. Motion seconded by David Levey. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
Nancy Smith, Amanda West, Serenity West, Rose Mason, Jarrell Rola, Jami Hamilton, Linda Baird, Cheryl Peters, Linda Stevens, Danielle Manke, Lisa Pawlowski and Rheta Reagen.
2024 FIRE DEPARTMENT VOLUNTEERS - Motion made by David Levey to approve the following 2024 Fire Department volunteers. Motion seconded by Dennis Tubb. Motion carried with unanimous vote.

NEW BUSINESS:
COMMERICIAL APPLICATOR TRAINING - Brent White made a motion to approve Commercial Applicator Training for Dane Hirschfeld, Kyle Kaiser and Randy Millburn on January 16, 2023. Motion seconded by David Levey. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
AGNES REECY PAY RAISE - Brent White made a motion to approval a pay raise for Agnes Reecy, $15.91 per hour, effective January 1, 2024, as per library board. Motion was seconded by Jarell Rola. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
AARP GRANT FOR PICKLEBALL COURTS - Dennis Tubb made a motion to approve having Andrea Powers with SHEDCO apply for an AARP grant for the pickleball courts in Edgemont. Motion seconded by Jason Shook. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: Dennis Tubb made a motion to enter into executive session as per SDCL 1-25-2 (1) for personnel purposes and as per SDCL 1-25-2 (3) as per legal purposes at 7:22 p.m. Motion was seconded by David Levey. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
Meeting resumed at 7:43 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT: David Levey made a motion to adjourn at 7:44 p.m. Motion was seconded by Jarrell Rola. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
The next regular City Council meeting will be held February 6, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
