Fall River County Weed & Pest Board Meeting
September 1, 2022
The Fall River County Weed and Pest Board meeting was called to order by President Jerry Wyatt at 1:07 p.m. September 1, 2022 at the Fall River County South Annex. Attending members were John Sides, Bob Novotny, Wayne Hageman, and Nina Steinmetz. All motions unanimous unless otherwise stated.
Motion to approve the agenda and last set of minutes was made by John S. and seconded by Wayne H.
Old Business:
Board and supervisor went through the watch properties list.
Right-of-way spraying is still happening. We have been going back to do a second round on roads that have increased puncture vine growth. Trying a new herbicide mix for control of kosha weed and waiting to see results for the extra expense.
The 2022 Fall River Fair – Weed and Pest Booth was set up this year. Saturday was the busiest day. The display reused many of the grasses collected for the Pasture Walk.
Mosquito trapping and fogging ended August 22nd. No West Nile cases or pools were found in any of our trappings.
New Business:
Nina S. asked for approval to look for a part time applicator for weeds and Prairie dog applications.
Herbicide Jug Recycling will be Sept. 1 from 8:00 to 11:00, in Rapid City, S.D.
The next meeting will be October 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the South Annex. Meeting was adjourned.
