Regular Meeting
July 13, 2022
The regular meeting of the Town of Oelrichs was called to order by President J. Messinio at 7:00 p.m.
Allegiance to the flag was pledged.
Board Present: Joseph Messinio, Jess Hamar, Mike Carson
Staff Present: Ellen White, Susan Hamilton, Doug Burdette, Roy Merdanian III- Absent
Guests Present: Dottie Messinio

Additions and Corrections to the Agenda: None
Approval of Agenda: J. Messinio made a motion to the approve the agenda and M. Carson 2nd the motion; motion carried.
Approval of previous meeting minutes for June 14, 2022: J. Hamar made a motion to approve the agenda and J. Messinio 2nd the motion; motion carried.
Old Business:
Susan Hunt - Tabled until next meeting.
Shampooer and Vacuum Cleaner for Community Center: J. Hamar made a motion to get a shampooer and vacuum cleaner for the Community Center and M. Carson 2nd the motion; motion carried.
Animal Letter- Tabled until next meeting.
Pay Claims – General: Roy Meradanian III-Reimbursement for supplies $221.98, SD Department of Labor and Regulation-$55.81, Susan Hunt- Cleaning the Community Center for June $60.00, Simon- Roadstone $281.79, Fall River County Herald- Proceeding and Notice of Meeting $82.37, SD Department of Labor and Regulation $25.09, Rocking RK Enterprises- moving for June and part of July $520.00, Roy Merdanian III- June wages $564.57, Nelson Oil & Gas- Propance $371.29, Roy Merdanian III- May wages $92.35. J. Messinio made a motion to accept the claims and J. Hamar 2nd the motion; motion carried.
Water Report: One May 31st the meters were read for June. One June 4th, the data was entered for billing. The water sample taken on June 6th, from site 1 and dropped off at Mid Continent for analysis and the results were good. Meter 130b, was turned off per customer and was turned back on June 13th for the new renter. On June 13th, the quarterly water report was prepared and mailed. J. Hamar made a motion to accept the water report and J. Messinio 2nd the motion; motion carried.
Public Works Report: Roy has been working on the drainage around town and he got the yield signs up on 8th street. He has gotten the reflectors on the signs on the entrances into town off the highway. J. Messinio made a motion to accept the public works report and J. Hamar 2nd the motion; motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – June: General beginning balance $59,428.45, credits $9,161.18, debits $ 4,973.29, ending balance $63,616.34; water fund beginning balance $74,696.66, credits $2,939.11, debits $5,598.12, ending balance $72,037.65; maintenance beginning balance $821.15, credits $100.01, debits $0; money market beginning balance $21,601.57, credits $0.18, debits $0, ending balance $21,601.75; water asset beginning balance $23,437.14, credits $350.19, credits $0, ending balance $23,787.33; water deposits beginning balance $5,061.52, credits $0.04, debits $0, $5,061.56; water reserve beginning balance $8,670.46, credits $0.07, debits $0, ending balance $8,670.53. J. Messinio made a motion to accept the water report and J. Hamar 2nd the motion; motion carried.
Town Clerk’s Report: The town clerk requested to get new check book binders for the checks. J. Messinio made a motion to accept the town clerk’s request and J. Hamar 2nd the motion; motion carried.
New Business:
Vote in President and Vice President: J. Messinio is the president and J. Hamar is the vice president. J. Messinio made a motion to accept the president and vice president. J. Hamar 2nd the motion; motion carried.
Bid to clean up Alley’s: Table until the next meeting.
Alan Soden letter: The town board will give Alan another 30 days to get the town property cleaned up on east 9th Street. If that is not done within another 30 days, the town will move forward about hiring someone to come in and clean up the property. J. Hamar made the motion to give Alan another 30 days and J. Messinio 2nd the motion; motion carried.
