July 19, 2022
Call To Order – Roll Call: Mayor, Carla Schepler, called the regular meeting of the Edgemont Common Council to order at 7:00 P.M. on July 19, 2022, at Edgemont City Hall. Present were Council members, Roger Horton, David Levey, Jarrell Rola, Carl Shaw, Dennis Tubb and Brent White.
Pledge of Allegiance was stated.
Conflict Of Interest For Council Members: None were heard.
Approval Of Agenda: Roger Horton made a motion to approve the July 19, 2022 agenda. Motion seconded by David Levey. Motion passed with unanimous vote.
Approval Of Minutes: Brent White made a motion to approve the July 5, 2022 minutes. Motion was seconded by Dennis Tubb. Motion passed with unanimous vote.

Public Comment: Andrea Powers spoke to the Council about upcoming grant opportunities.
Approval Of Claims: Roger Horton made a motion to approve the July 19, 2022 claims totaling $39,042.92. Motion seconded by Dennis Tubb. Motion carried with unanimous roll call vote.
July 6-19, 2022 Salaries: Administration 1835.20, Streets 1790.54, Airport 509.07, Pool 43.46, Park 545.13, Library 1232.43, Museum 20.37, Water 1482.81, Sewer 426.87, Garbage 182.82. Total Salaries: $8,068.70.
July 6-19, 2022 Expenditures: City of Edgemont 503.18 utility allowance, Intuit 19.17 updates, Century Business 201.14 leases, Dane Hirschfeld 63.47 medical allowance, Efraimson Electric 102.04 prof fees, Hawkins 2084.78 chlorine, Messick’s 390.38 supplies, Metering Technology Solutions 1800.00 prof fees, MidContinent Labs 23.00 prof fees, Nelson’s Oil & Gas 4952.59 prof fees, Rancher’s Feed 504.35 supplies, Sander Sanitation 4920.48 garbage, SD One Call 81.76 prof fees, Amazon 449.08 supplies, Traver’s & Assoc. 1775.00 insurance, US Bank 8725.76 debt retirement, Verizon 99.04 cell phones, WRT 4279.00 prof fees. Amy Lee – Variance For Mobile Home: Roger Horton made a motion to deny Amy Lee’s variance application. Motion was seconded by Carl Shaw. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
George Eberle – Resolution Correction: Dennis Tubb made a motion to change the legal description in Resolution 2021-07-20 as follows: “That portion of Stewart Street adjacent to Lot 1, Block 132, lying south of Hwy 471, to the Town, now City, of Edgemont, Fall River County, South Dakota, subject to any easements and right-of-way presently existing for public utility or drainage purposes. Said Street is not built, used or traveled as a street as it was replaced by the State Highway running through the downtown area.” Motion was seconded by David Levey. Motion carried with unanimous roll call vote.
Moore’s Chuck Wagon Llc: David Levey made a motion to approve the Peddler’s License for Moore’s Chuck Wagon LLC to include copies of all documentation from the State and insurance. Motion was seconded by Carl Shaw. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
Surplus Items: Dennis Tubb made a motion to advertise the surplus items for two weeks requiring sealed bids to be opened at the August 16, 2022 meeting. Motion was seconded by Brent White. Motion carried with roll call vote. Horton – aye, Levey – aye, Rola – aye, Shaw – nay, Tubb – aye, Brent White – aye.

Executive Session Per Sdcl 1-25-2 (1 & 4) Personnel/Contracts: David Levey made a motion to enter into Executive Session at 7:57 p.m. Motion was seconded by Carl Shaw. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
Return to regular meeting at 9:01 p.m.
No action was taken.
