City of Edgemont Common Council
February 18, 2020
Call To Order – Roll Call: Mayor Jerry Dibble called the regular meeting of the Edgemont Common Council to order at 7:00 p.m. on February 18, 2020, at Edgemont City Hall. Present were Council members, Roger Horton, Kimberly McDade, Carla Schepler, Jason Shook, John Sturgis and Robert Worden.
Pledge of Allegiance was stated.
Conflict Of Interest For Council Members: No conflicts were heard.
Approval Of Agenda: Jason Shook made a motion to approve the February 18, 2020 agenda. Motion seconded by John Sturgis. Motion passed with unanimous vote.
Approval Of Minutes: Carla Schepler made a motion to approve the February 4, 2020 minutes. Motion was seconded by Kimberly McDade. Motion passed with unanimous vote.
Law Enforcement – Thomas McMillan
Public Works – Roger Horton
Mayor – Mayor Dibble discussed the meeting that was on February 10th with AE2S and Water System Drilling Inc. The engineers are going to work with us to correct the problems. As of now the water treatment plant is on full bypass so don’t worry if you have some discolored water.
Public Comment: No public comment was heard.
Approval Of Claims: Carla Schepler made a motion to approve the February 18, 2020 claims totaling $345,421.92. Motion seconded by Roger Horton. Motion carried with unanimous roll call vote.
Feb 4-17, 2020 Salaries: Administration 1704.75, Streets 3388.70, Airport 19.93, Cemetery 30.79, Park 7.70, Library 1042.35, Water 2424.34, Sewer 558.72, Garbage 448.24.
Total Salaries: $9,625.52.

Library Carpet – Stacie Harter: Jason Shook made a motion to approve the City to share half the expense of the new carpet for the Library. Motion was seconded by Robert Worden. Motion passed with roll call vote. Horton – aye, McDade – aye, Schepler – aye, Shook – aye, Sturgis – nay, Worden – aye.
District 9 Annual Meeting: Kimberly McDade made a motion to pay the registration fees for Council, Mayor and any guests that would like to attend. Motion was seconded by Carla Schepler. Motion passed with unanimous vote.
Ordinance 2020-02-18 First Reading – Chickens
Executive Session Per Sdcl 1-25-2 (4) Contracts: Carla Schepler made a motion to enter into Executive Session at 7:33 p.m. Motion was seconded by Jason Shook. Motion passed with unanimous vote.
Returned to Regular Meeting at 7:52 p.m. No action was taken
Code Enforcement Contract: Jason Shook made a motion to table. Motion was seconded by John Sturgis. Motion passed with unanimous vote.
Adjournment: Jason Shook made a motion to adjourn at 7:53 p.m. Motion was seconded by Kimberly McDade. Motion carried with unanimous vote.
The next regular City Council meeting will be held March 3, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.
